{If you’re new here, this is the monthly round-up email I send out to my OG blog subscribers. I send out this format every month - with other Substack posts in between. Except that hasn’t happened this month on account of limited arm useage … oops 🫠}
I’m in the post-pain, annoyingly frustrating stage of recovery from tendon transfer surgery. I have two more weeks and many thumb exercises to go before I’ll be back on the road (literally!) and able to use both hands.
Maybe my 2024 will start after Easter? Anyone with me?
I have, however, developed a new skill - one I never knew I would need. I’ve managed to pose in multiple photos and videos without showing my wrist/thumb splint. Yes, it makes me look lopsided or that I’ve done a bit of dodgy photo-shopping. And, yes, I realise this is a non-sensical skill. But in a world where my business relies on me showing up in outfit photos, the show has needed to go on. And not everything in my wardrobe is tonal with the black and white of the splint and bandage on my right arm!
A couple of weeks ago those posing skills were very much needed. I was invited to the Sydney home of Zoë Foster-Blake Hamish Blake.
Did it really happen?
See. Superior arm hiding skills. Trust me, I’m looking way more calm and relaxed in this photo than I was on the inside. It was an exquisite event, yet intimate and “homely”. Such a befitting way to celebrate Go-To’s 10th birthday.
I’m grateful for my Outfit Fairy Godmothers Jaime from La Sirena Boutique and Clare from Conscious Curations hire business for helping me look and feel wonderful in this Alemais outfit. Click video below and read caption for details.
It truly was a bright spot in an otherwise frustrating kind of month. Another bright spot? This weekend we head away with close friends to one of our fave spots in the world (and it’s only one hour by barge away from Brisbane) - Minjerribah or Straddie. This post is from six years ago but it still sums up the magic of this island.
Hoppy Easter to you. Please keep on reading for some time-sensitive offers from my sponsors. I’m very picky about who I choose to work with - these recommendations are true to me and my values.

🍑 It’s been a 10-year love affair
And Go-To and my skin have only gotten better with age.
{Watch my 10-year highlight reel HERE, including an interview I did with Zoë just before the launch 10 years ago}
From the first products received via the most clever media kit ever (I’ll NEVER spend that $5 note!), buying almost every product Go-To has released, to getting my whole family on board the Go-To train, becoming an ambassador 🥹 and attending the 10th anniversary party at Zoë and Hamish’s home, it’s been a wonderful ride - one my not 56 year-old skin is very thankful I’ve been on.
Here’s to another 10 years.
In the meantime, hop on over Go-To.
Place an order until March 26, 2024 and you’re in with a chance to win:

💫 NEW Bon Maxie bag alert … could this be your new everyday and travel best friend?
{Use my code NIKKI20 to save $20 on orders over $100, including bundles}
Whenever Bon Maxie founder Clare releases a new product, particularly her bag products, I take note and usually add to cart. Her latest bag “baby” launched last night and, in my opinion, it’s her best yet.
Why? Like all Bon Maxie products, an inordinate amount of thought has gone into not only how it looks but especially how it functions and organises your life, your stuff.
The Tryhard Crossbody Handle bag (shown here in tan leather/brushed gold but check out black, fuchsia, and cobalt online with options of brushed gunmetal hardware) is a big/little or little/big bag. It’s small enough to be comfortably held but its handle or worn on the shoulder or crossbody but big enough to fit your everyday or travel essentials.
The secret to its storage sorcery is in its three compartments, which deceptively fit SO much without making the bag look or feel bulky to wear.
Watch my video HERE (I share just how much I fit into the Tryhard).
🥹 from our Fam chat
I’m missing the David Attenborough-like content the eldest has sent while on exchange with the Chilean navy in Antarctica … so edited some of his footage and parked it on Instagram to return to whenever I need a pick me up.
As a mum of adult kids, my greatest wishes for them are that they’re healthy, safe, happy in their life path and that they say yes to exciting opportunities that come their way.
And for those who have been asking, my daughter and her girlfriend are also having the time of their lives living and working in Manchester. I’ve reached the stage where I realise they’re not just on holiday and coming home any day 😭 but can’t wait to live vicariously through their Euro holiday plans.
Shout out to my fellow parents of adult kids living overseas!

Like you I’m in a wrist brace until the beginning of April so starting the year after Easter sounds like a plan to me! I’m not sure where I was when patience was handed out but it certainly wasn’t in the line 😊
