{If you’re new here, this is the monthly round-up email I send out to my OG blog subscribers. I send out this format every month - with the intention of writing other Substack posts in between. Except that hasn’t happened because … LIFE. HAH. I promise, it will happen.}
Do you wear what you love? I hope you do.
For almost 16 years, I’ve been sharing this core style belief, along with thousands of personal outfits, on the internet - that’s most of my 40s and now deep into my 50s, fast approaching my 57th birthday.
If I had a $ for every time someone - always a woman - told me to dress “appropriately” for my age or size, I’d not still be here encouraging you to drop outdated ageist and size-ist thoughts about what YOU choose to wear.
No, I’d be happily sitting by the ocean in a bikini (gosh horror, cover up woman!), wearing a pair of shorts (no-one needs to see your knees!), letting my arms flap about in the wind (why on earth must you put them on show?!) as I ordered another margarita.
The next time you question whether you “can” wear a particular piece of clothing, pause for a minute and ask yourself if you’re doubting the choice because of something subconscious you’re carrying in your head, something a well-meaning relative or friend might have recently or long ago said or is it that you just don’t love it for YOU.
The latter is all you need to concentrate on.
What you wear is all about YOU. And how YOU feel in an outfit on any particular day.
It’s not about your sister, mother, friend or stranger on internet with a cat profile photo who wants to give you “advice”. This so-called advice (which usually starts with the words “sorry but …”) says more about them that it will ever say about you.
Please remember that.
In other news … I’m backing using both my hands. And driving. SO free-ing.
I am looking ahead now. I’m revelling in cooler nights and mild days. And I’m EXCITED about wearing winter clothes again (click HERE for outfit inspiration).
I’m back in jeans (it’s a Queensland/northern Australia thing - for a chunk of the year it’s just too hot), I wore boots out last Friday night and I’m happily back in my label’s famous ponte pants. Heads up: they’re restocking after selling out the past four years TOMORROW - 12noon May 1.
Are you enjoying switching things up in your wardrobe? Leave a comment below to tell me what’s on your autumn-winter clothes shopping list?

The leather pants that I’ve loved since 2021 are back
[AD]
These Zjoosh leather pants have been a firm fixture in my winter wardrobe since they were first released three years ago. They fit and feel so incredible on that I never hesitate to reach for them, for casual and dressed up evening looks.
The soft stretch lambskin leather combined with an almost invisible elastic panel at the back ensures comfort and breathability. Yes, they are an investment and not for everyone’s budget but, yes, they will serve you well beyond one winter.
I’m in size L (my waist is 91cm and hips are 103cm) Check the size chart for the waist and hip garment measurements to match to your own measurements. You can allow a bit for stretch.
Complete your winter quiet luxury wardrobe with knits, wraps or ponchettes from Zjoosh’s cashmere collection.

Let’s talk eye serums
[AD]
The eyes have it … well specifically the supremely delicate skin around my eyes. You see, I’ve been sadly neglecting this part of my skincare routine for as long as I can remember. I convinced myself that face oils and moisturisers were enough.
Until I’ve been unconvinced!
You might remember back in January where I shared I’d be trialling Go-To’s new retinal (a form of Vitamin A) De-Crease eye serum?
I’ve been using it nightly since then. I’ve experienced zero irritation; just maximum hydration of this area of my skin. The result? A blurring of fine lines and a smooth feeling that my 56-year-old skin is loving.
Don't take my word, check out the clinical results for De-Crease:
Clinically proven to visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles*
Clinically proven to visibly lift the eye area*
Clinically proven to increase skin smoothness*
100% of users said it helped counteract the visible signs of ageing around the eye area**
Over 90% of users said it helped reduce the appearance of crow’s feet**
*Based on a 12 week clinical study of 30 participants**Based on a 6 week clinical study of 30 participants
Your looking great Nikki, have you lost weight?
I’m inspired by you.
