{If you’re new here, this is the monthly round-up email I send out to my OG blog subscribers. I send out this format every month - with some bonus Substack posts in between. I include some offers and ideas from my sponsors. Your support of the work I do with my sponsors helps to keep my newsletters free to you, so thank you!}
Ok, so you’ve got me. We’re still a week and a bit away from September but with a busy (pre-long-awaited Euro holiday) week ahead of me, I’m jumping in early with my monthly round-up. The bonus for you is that I’ll be back here before the month is out, sharing my packing jigsaw tips with you as soon as I’ve, well, actually done the packing bit.
Meanwhile, it’s a good job that I’ve finished my 30 looks for winter challenge (I wrote about it here at the halfway mark) because lo and behold, in many parts of Australia it appears that spring has arrived early. I know, I know, most people don’t believe we even get a winter at all in Queensland - maybe you’re one of them - but I for one will not miss the single digit nights with the cold westerly winds whipping through our floorboards. This winter was particularly nasty for that. What I will miss is wearing jeans. Boy, it’s been fun to play around with new denim shapes this season. Did you venture out of your denim comfort zone? Click below for look 30 - you can scroll back either on Instagram or Facebook to see the other 29.

The unexpected shoe outfit theory
This theory goes a little something like this … traditionally when putting together an outfit you may have stuck with pieces the same level of dressy from head to toe. But! Remember a time when we didn’t wear sneakers with dresses? Then the sneaker became the unexpected shoe.
Now with the casualisation of office wear, that juxtaposition of casual and dressy in the one outfit is being increasingly played out in reverse. The unexpected shoe is now a dressy one and the clothing pieces are the comfy casual players. It’s this unexpected pairing that elevates and modernises the entire outfit.
Which leads me to my new fave shoe from FRANKIE4 - the Coco slingback kitten heel. The key to bringing the look together is to add one other dressed up piece to the outfit - either via an accessory or an outer layer.
And as for walking all day in these shoes? You are not sacrificing comfort. The style looks higher than it is; the heel is super stable, you can adjust fit at the heel and across the foot and underfoot is FRANKIE4’s LuxaLite™ footbed which has a dual layer support and cushion system.
(I’m a proud ambassador for FRANKIE4 Footwear)
Go-To discount for you (hurry ends September 3)
Repeat after me: I’m not a minimalist packer. This is especially so when it comes to my beauty essentials, which are responsible for taking up a decent amount of my luggage allowance. HAH. Kidding. That’s what my husband’s suitcase is for.
The thing is, I look after my skin and I want to have the Go-To products I know it loves with me at all times. That means full-size products on longer trips and stealthily collecting minis* of my faves throughout the year so that my inflight skincare matches that in my checked luggage.
You can see what I'm packing HERE (swipe through the carousel).
But enough about me and my overpacking ways … Go-To has given me a 15% discount code to pass on to you. Spend $65 or more, enter NIKKIGT at checkout and you’ll save up until September 3. Discount applies to one order only.

WIN a spring-summer capsule wardrobe
To celebrate the launch next Wednesday of Styling You The Label’s first collection for spring-summer, we’re giving one lucky person the chance to win one piece of their choice from each of the six mini collections we’ll be dropping between now and December. Below is a look at what’s dropping first - and being packed in my suitcase!

Have you heard of The Dom?
Have you heard about The Dom? It’s a one-stop online store that offers so many well-loved designer brands, all up to 80% off.
I saved 50% on both of these pieces: Lee Matthews Christo top (I’m in size 3) and Scotch and Soda belted blazer (I’m in XL). You can watch my video HERE.
Remember my number one sales shopping tip: it’s not a bargain if you buy something you wouldn’t otherwise wear or it doesn’t fit into your personal style or your lifestyle.
Considered shopping will reap the most rewards for your wardrobe:
Think about winter pieces you have gaps for (especially if there’s still a bit of winter left where you live).
Think ahead to the warmer months (what is missing from your wardrobe?)
Think about any upcoming holidays you might have (holiday theme dressing is my favourite!)

This is the bra that stared my Nala love affair
When I first tried this bra, I seriously could not believe I was wearing a strapless underwire bra that actually felt comfortable on. The bonus has been that it is such a great shape for me WITH the straps that I often wear it as a regular bra.
Available in sizes 8D-22D in three colours: liquorice (black), dessert dust (neutral clay colour) and snow cone (white).
The dessert dust works well for me under light coloured clothing without show through - just as well as a bra colour nearer my skin tone.
Nala is not only a value-for-money, Australian, female-founded brand, it’s a brand that continues to lead the way in showcasing its product on a diverse range of women’s bodies, all the while offering an inclusive size range for C cups and up.
Use my site wide discount code when shopping to save 15%. CODE: StylingYou15
