As you read this, I’m back in one of my absolute happy places - Minjerribah/North Stradbroke Island. Something magical happens as you drive on to the barge and start the 40-minute trip across Moreton Bay. It always feels like I’m letting go of the longest breath. And breathing in the sea air brings with it an immediate sense of calm. The never-ending work to-do list is forgotten, as is the morning of inevitable matrimonial bickering that happens as both of us madly scramble to fit everything into the car, wondering yet again why it feels like we have shoved in pretty much everything we own for 10 days away.
This year, however, I’m feeling a little smug. I love a holiday for an outfit opportunity. I know this isn’t for everyone but for me it’s a whole lot of fun - it’s the same for my girlfriends who are also on the island for Easter. Why the smugness this year? I’ve hired some outfits from Stradbroke-based hire company, Conscious Creations. I introduced you to Clare Carroll’s business last Easter after meeting her and doing a special photoshoot while on holiday on the island. I love that she has niched her hiring business down to offering Alemais outfits in mostly size 14 and 16. With more than 600 pieces listed online, I had a lot of fun going back through the archives to choose some looks for this holiday. Best of all, I don’t have to fit them the car - they’ll be delivered to me on the island! See. SMUG.

Looks like a glorious destination. Must put on my list. We had a weekend at Broadbeach which was perfect weather. Although Sydney has turned it on since holidays began. We head to cairns in a few weeks and I bought lite fare. 7kg.wish me luck. I’ll need a magician.
